Re-Use Before Recycling
June 14, 2012; 12:26 PM
With just a little creativity and effort, every household in America can take items sitting idle around the house and re-use them before recycling. Here are a few ideas to help you get started.
Instead of throwing used cereal boxes in the trash, turn them into note-pads. If you still read the newspaper when sitting down for breakfast, don't toss it when finished, turn it into a colorful place mat. Do you have any glass styled mason jars collecting dust in your basement or attic? Give them a thorough dusting and use them to store hair accessories, office supplies or your favorite candy!
And who doesn't pop an aluminum can of vegetables open for dinner every now and then? Take the aluminum can and turn it into a starter pot for plants.
