Beneficial Rainfall for the Western Prairies

Western Prairies Soaker....
The combination of a slow-moving front and a moist, easterly upslope wind flow will leave parts of the western Prairies with significant rainfall totals through Friday evening.
Over the past 30 days, much of this region has been abnormally dry with less than 40% of normal precipitation (see Environment Canada chart below)

Here is my forecast (below) for the heavier rainfall through Friday night. Many areas will get over 25 mm with isolated locations perhaps getting over 45 mm.

Just like a large part of the lower 48 states, much of the Prairies and eastern Canada were incredibly warm by March standards, with a large area averaging over 5 degrees Celsius above normal!
