Detroit: Autumn Arrives but Temperatures Warm Midweek

September 24, 2013; 1:26 PM

For the first day of fall on Sunday, Detroit was dry and cool.

In the wake of the weekend's weather, a high pressure will bring cool autumn-like temperatures to the region for the start of the new week, with temperatures in the upper 60s.

For the New Day Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday, temperatures remained close to 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

High pressure, over the Great Lakes will shift north of the Detroit area Monday and Tuesday, bringing warmer temperatures.

Sunshine is expected to continue through the middle of the week as the mercury rises to the mid-70s, just a few degrees above the average for the end of September.
