Rainy Monday to Follow a Mild Sunday in Harrisburg
April 07, 2014; 12:35 AM
The mild end to the weekend in Harrisburg is not a sign of things to come for the first part of this week.
Monday will instead turn cooler and rainy in the afternoon and evening as a storm system from the Gulf of Mexico tracks northeastward.
Widespread flash flooding is not expected. The main impacts of the rain will be an increased use in umbrellas and some cancellations to outdoor plans.
Motorists should prepare for slow downs and reduced visibilities, while airline passengers may encounter delays.
Clouds will win out over sunshine on Tuesday, but most residents will likely pay more attention to temperatures rebounding to about 60 degrees F.
Blustery winds will usher in fresh cool air for Wednesday, but another surge of warmth could bring Harrisburg its first 70-degree day later in the week.
A chance of a shower is possible on Friday but it will be sunny Thursday and Saturday with highs in the upper 60s to near 70 F.
