Northeast faces a return of ice-cold winds late Friday and Saturday

A low pressure area over the southwestern corner of this map will strengthen as it moves northeastward towards Chicago this afternoon. By tomorrow morning, the strong storm will be over southern Ontario. However, in the wake of the recent warmup, the new chill will be quite noticeable to the northeast from there. Thunderstorms have been common along the cold front that is ushering in the Arctic air. This cold air mass is not as harsh as the one that visited the region last week. However, the new chill will be quite noticeable.
